I have began making some changes to the site, starting with a shrink down of the forum, and a new look static area. I will asap be making further changes to evolve this site into an MXpie and Winmx resource.

I will for now run with the website design/dev/seo area as more of more regs that visit this site have their own sites and vauable tips and help to pass on for beginers and more experienced webmaster alike.

I have removed some of the crapy smilies and added a random mod so we get to see an assortment next to the posting box.

If anyone has any suggestions as to outher mods they would like to see here, feel free to post.

Upgraded the forum to phpBB3, most of the previous mods should still be working, if anyone notices anything thats screwed up, let me know.

Admins - good luck with the admin area, its got more damn options than the Enterprise....

Yeah, agreed, this is just stage 1, i am considering a darker template, BUT, its a lot or work to change, as all the mods have to be manually re-done from scratch.

I like the new look and all the options (but I still think SMF is better than phpBB). The light color is much more readable and much more professional looking.

I think you should put in the standard set of default smileys, and move the weirdos to another page (don't do like v44 and have a gazillion there, though)

You currently have too many smileys displaying, so you will either have to reduce the number showing or make the post box bigger, to take up the extra space and balance it out. (a bigger post box would be really nice)

If you are going to have a focus on not only winmx, but SEO & webmaster chat, as well, you will have to keep a bit more professional appearance to the forum. Dark & weird stuff will be a big turn-off to normal people that may be attracted here strictly for the webmaster section.

Keep this in mind.

Depending on if you plan on changing the main site theme, I might change from the light blue to a light green, though..or a green & soft yellow (but still keeping light colors). If you do go with anything dark, try to keep it off the areas that will display text. (it makes colored text & links hard to read)

The changes would be much easier if you did it yourself rather than getting a theme premade and adding all the mods. If you do it yourself, you will just have to edit the CSS for this one to change colors & images, instead. (make sure you keep a backup of the original CSS though)

Can I make a request for one custom bbcode tag? I'd like the addition of a [strike]strikethrough[/strike] tag. I really could have used that one yesterday when editing that Sampurn Ads post.

- no doubt there is some work to do on the smilies, i am still trying to get my head around phpbb3

- i'm just not sure what the hell to do with the colors, i think i am going to stay as is, whilst i complete the large site projects i'm working on else where, then perhaps i will re-look at it, the blue is nice, it just doesn't match the static pages, and i like these things to match, lol

- more than happy to create a custom bbcode for you, as soon as i work out how the hell to do it i will get it done :D

The static pages on the main site are green & silver, so doing the forum in green & silver would work, even if you kept it light and didn't go with the dark look.

Most of the buttons are already silver-gray, so what is left is the CSS to make it all nice & green, and inserting a better logo banner at the top.

When you do decide to work on it, make it an alternate theme till you know for sure that it works well. And later on you could do a dark one too, for those that would prefer to not be able to read the text on links. (the old dark green on dark gray was baaaaaad)

Just keep the default as something light.

Have spent some time messing with the new forum, and as some may or may not have noticed the static part of the site has taken on a new look. The news is, im not happy with it, so its not going to be around long!

I should at this point extend my gratitude to Mr E for his tireless efforts developing a forum theme behind the scenes, over the last week or two he has helped with time, skill and ideas.

New forum and site design due soon, just a some loose ends to tie up. The poker rooms will be opened in the near future also, again, a little work still to be done there.

Well, new look complete, static and forum aspects of the site, let me know if you come across any issues.

Poker will be following in the near future, and i will attempt to add any useful mods i come across.

My initial reaction when I saw the forum just now:

DAMN! WOW! HOLY SHIT!

It looks very nice! I really like the neon lights effect.

This must have been a lot of work.
